Actor-turned-director George Clooney has a lot to say about the Hollywood aspirations of former White House chief strategist, Steve Bannon.

At the Toronto International Film Festival, Clooney told Vanity Fair that before his political days Bannon was a “schmuck who literally tried everything he could to sell scripts in Hollywood.”

Clooney then brought up Bannon’s unproduced 1990s screenplay, The Thing I Am. “It’s like a rap Shakespearean thing about the L.A. riots. It’s the worst script you’ve ever read,” Clooney said before speculating that if Bannon were still in the Hollywood scene, “he would still be … making movies and kissing my ass to make one of his films.
